With its unique charm, architecture and location, Tranquility Villa is truly a Caribbean gem and as such it has featured prominently in magazine articles. This includes: House Beautiful: A Place in the Sun, and Coastal Living, where it earned the accolade of favourite tropical home.
The villa is on the private Moonhole peninsula which has been maintained as a nature preserve for many years and is located on the western tip of Bequia with thirty-five acres of rich wooded land and a few private dwellings.
Being directly above a beach and reefs, Tranquility provides excellent swimming and snorkelling only footsteps below. The garden and private secluded pool area has been developed and nurtured using local flora. The living, dining areas, four bedrooms and decks all have spectacular views of the turquoise blue Caribbean Sea and about twenty of the Grenadine Islands. The villa faces the southeastern trade winds that keep the entire area relatively cool year round. The entire property is made from local stone and hardwoods. This blurs the lines between inside and outside in an open plan concept that blends with the natural surroundings.
The main floor features spectacular living and dining areas, a library/music room and a well equipped kitchen and laundry. Large opening windows look out over the Caribbean Sea, the islands, the tropical flora and the pool area. The four double bedrooms have en suite facilities, sea views and their own private patios. The Master bedroom is on the topmost floor and has its own private gated entrance and a large sundeck/viewing platform. All modern utilities include good internet and TV, pressure water system, solar heated hot water and mains electricity.
